Everything you love about New York City's best bars can be found at Time Out Market: Terrific cocktails, skyline views and happy hours to end your day and start your evening. Just like our restaurant curation, we've taken great care in building our bars. Some of the city's finest beverage professionals were with us on day one creating delicious, Instagrammable libations, and the creativity keeps flowing today. And don't miss our Love Local Brews Bar, focused on suds made here in NYC.
Every drink seems ideal when you're at the perfect bar. Your dive’s beer is frosty, rooftops send you soaring toward the clouds and cocktail destinations shake and stir myriad ingredients into ideally calibrated glassware—leaps above what you try to craft at home. The options are unending, the ice is nicer and you aren’t just drinking, you’re at the spot.
Whether you're dabbling in low-ABV libations, making your way through dedicated martini menus or collecting passwords for pseudo speakeasies, there is an ideal location for every taste, tolerance and occasion. Find them among the 50 best bars in NYC right now.

- For a last call at a rooftop this year: Panorama Room - The only rooftop found on Roosevelt Island, this jewel crowns the Graduate Roosevelt Island hotel (Roosevelt Island)
- For Korean snacks, sips n' such: Sunn's – Sunny Lee's banchan-based bar is a welcome find in Chinatown for natty wines and close quarters. (Chinatown)
- For a NYC brewery fave: Talea Beer Taproom – This woman-owned brewery serves up signature suds, many of them fruit-forward and plenty of them sour (Multiple locations)
Updated October 2025: Can you believe it is October already? With near 80 degree temps, we certainly can't. But then again, we spent most of the summer (really, a good chunk of the year) with our heads down, prepping to bring you the latest and greatest of the city. And now it is finally here—welcome to Time Out Market, Union Square. Just like its sister spot in Dumbo, the latest market hall gives you the best to eat and drink in NYC, this time in Manhattan. If the seven award-winning and beloved chefs won't have you running to Union Square, we hope that the 360-degree bar and secluded back patio will at least inspire a jog.
But in between all the calls, meetings and many (many) emails, I spent a good chunk of time this summer doing what I do best: sitting on the roof, most often with a drink in hand. Looking back on the season, I toured many open-air rooftops and posted up on side streets, sipping at some of the city's best. But to be honest, I am actually looking forward to the cool down and the cozy bars that come with it. This month, I plan on scoping out a few speakeasies to hibernate in for when the chill comes for us all. I've already made a few treks to the secret side of New York, including a visit to the tucked-away Saint Tuesday, which has been added back to our list. In that same vein, we removed Employees Only. And, for a head start on the season of all things cozy, we already gave a lift to our favorite underground bars. So here's to October and the start of fall.
