With this year’s edition already behind us, it’s time to look ahead to Coachella 2025. The Indio music festival typically marks one of the earliest live music weekends across the country (and maybe we’re a bit biased, but we’d say its lineup outclasses nearly every other music festival, too). The 2025 edition will inevitably bring with it plenty of bands and DJs to see and amazing things to eat and drink between sets (spoiler: food from some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles). Here’s what you need to know.

What is Coachella?

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music festival held over two weekends in Indio, just east of Palm Springs.

When is Coachella?

The festival is held over two weekends, April 11–13 and April 18–20, 2025.

Where is Coachella?

Not in the city of Coachella, surprisingly. Though most of us simply refer to the fest as Coachella, it’s technically the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. So the event actually takes place at the Empire Polo Club, a large field in the city of Indio (which is part of the larger Coachella Valley, a desert area a couple of hours east of L.A. in Riverside County).

When do Coachella tickets go on sale?

Presale for the 2025 fest begins Friday, May 3 at 11am. You can expect more tickets to go on sale in January, after the lineup is announced. Though passes have historically quickly sold out, it’s worth noting that tickets for the second weekend were still available just ahead of the 2024 edition.

How much are Coachella tickets?

We hope you’ve been saving up (all of the following prices include fees): General admission costs between $549 and $649, depending on when you’re able to snag them. Shuttle combo tickets cost $679 to $779. For VIP, it’ll cost you $1,199 to $1,399. Check out the Coachella website for wide range of camping rates.

What does the Coachella lineup be like?

We won’t know until early-to-mid-January, when the lineup is typically announced. For reference, No Doubt, Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator and Doja Cat headlined the 2024 festival.

Will Coachella be live streamed?

We can’t say for certain until a few weeks before the fest, but in all likelihood, yes. For 2024, you were able to watch streams from six stages on YouTube, including a new multiview feature that featured four stages at once. Streams typically rerun once between days of the fest, and after that you’ll only find brief clips of performances on the official Coachella channel.
