After a two-festival hiatus, Coachella 2022 is set make its triumphant return. The Indio music festival typically marks one of the earliest live music weekends across the country (and maybe we’re a bit biased, but we’d say its lineup outclasses nearly every other music festival, too). As the 2022 edition approaches, we’ll start previewing the best bands to see and the best things to eat and drink between sets (spoiler: food from some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles), along with recapping which special guests showed up and what everyone was wearing. But until then, here’s what you need to know.

What is Coachella?

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music festival held over two weekends in Indio, just east of Palm Springs.

When is Coachella?

The festival is held over two weekends, April 15–17 and April 22–24, 2022.

When do Coachella tickets go on sale?

Tickets for the first weekend of this year’s long-awaited Coachella are already very much sold out, as 2020 tickets are being honored alongside a remaining batch that went on sale in 2021. There will, however, be a presale for the second weekend starting Friday, January 14 at 10am as well as a wait list for the first weekend.

How much are Coachella tickets?

We hope you’ve been saving up over the past two-to-three years (all of the following prices are before fees): The only remaining general admission passes cost $549. Shuttle combo tickets cost $633. For VIP, it’ll cost you $1,119. Check out the Coachella website for wide range of camping rates.

What will the Coachella lineup be like?

Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) top this year’s lineup, with additional sets from Swedish House Mafia, Lil Baby, Phoebe Bridgers, Flume, Megan Thee Stallion, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, Doja Cat, Joji, Jamie xx and Run the Jewels, among others.
