This year’s edition has come and gone, but it’s already time to turn our attention to Coachella 2026. The Indio music festival typically marks one of the earliest live music weekends across the country (and maybe we’re a bit biased, but we’d say its lineup outclasses nearly every other music festival, too). The 2026 edition will inevitably bring with it plenty of bands and DJs to see and amazing things to eat and drink between sets (spoiler: food from some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles). Here’s what you need to know.
What is Coachella?
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music festival held over two weekends in Indio, just east of Palm Springs.
When is Coachella?
The festival is held over two weekends, April 10–12 and April 17–19, 2026.
Where is Coachella?
Not in the city of Coachella, surprisingly. Though most of us simply refer to the fest as Coachella, it’s technically the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. So the event actually takes place at the Empire Polo Club, a large field in the city of Indio (which is part of the larger Coachella Valley, a desert area a couple of hours east of L.A. in Riverside County).
When do Coachella tickets go on sale?
Presale for the 2026 fest starts Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11am. There’s a good chance presale passes will get snatched up pretty quickly, but expect another shot at tickets months from now when the lineup is released. Also, tickets have still been available in the days leading up to the start of the fest for the last couple of editions.
How much are Coachella tickets?
We hope you’ve been saving up (all of the following prices include fees): General admission starts at $599 for weekend one and $549 for weekend two. Shuttle combo tickets cost $729 for the first weekend and $679 for the second. For VIP, it’ll cost you $1,299 for weekend one and $1,199 for weekend two. (Expect all of these prices to increase by about $50 after the lineup is announced.) Check out the Coachella website for a wide range of camping rates, as well as info on the payment plan.
What does the Coachella lineup look like?
Though the lineup is normally released in January, 2025’s roster came quite early with a November announcement—Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone and Travis Scott were the headliners for that edition. So what will 2026 have in store? We’ll have to wait and see, but we’ll make sure to share all of the lineup details here once they’re announced.
Will Coachella be live streamed?
We don’t know quite yet about 2026, but for 2025, YouTube once again streamed the vast majority of the sets . You were able to watch streams from seven stages, including a multiview feature that showed four stages at once. Streams typically rerun once between days of the fest, and after that you’ll only find brief clips of performances on the official Coachella channel.
